Carly

Editor in chief. Marquee picks, holiday Game Plans, weekly editorial roundups, chef Top 5 lists.

I cook the way I edit: with strong opinions and a short attention span for fluff. Recipes do not need a personal essay before the ingredients. They need to be reachable, scannable, and worth the trip to the grocery store.

That is the editorial spine of HangryHQ. It is also why we built it. My partner and I were tired of the same nightly conversation: what do we want, what do we have, what do we feel like making, what does the other person feel like making, and somehow it is ten thirty and we are eating cereal again.

So we built the resource we wanted. The fridge tool answers "what can I make tonight" without asking us to think too hard. The recipe pages put the recipe first. The copycat hubs answer "can I make that at home" without making us scroll past five paragraphs about a chef's grandmother. The holiday hubs answer "what do I serve at Thanksgiving" without dragging us through a thousand-word brand history.

I write the marquee picks because I want to defend them. I write the holiday Game Plans because the holidays deserve someone who will actually plan. I edit everything else because the team voice is the brand and the brand is the trust. If something on this site reads like marketing copy, that is on me.

The Big Apron handles the project cooks. The Pantry Minimalist handles the use-it-up nights. Evan handles the weeknight pragmatism. I handle the curation. The four of us argue about it constantly, which is how you know it is working.

If you find a recipe page that breaks the rules, email me. The Carly Rules are non-negotiable.
