Acceptance of terms
By using HangryHQ (this website and any related apps), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Using the site
HangryHQ is for personal, non-commercial use. You may print recipes for your own kitchen, share links freely, embed our links in your own personal blog or messages, and reference our content in academic work with attribution.
Automated access: we welcome documented use by search-engine crawlers (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo) and respectful AI agents that obey the robots.txt directives at the root of this site. When we publish a public read-only recipe API (planned), agents may use it freely under the rate limits documented there. Outside of those documented channels:
- You may not scrape, copy, or systematically download the site or any part of it.
- You may not use HangryHQ content (prose, images, metadata) to train commercial machine-learning models, language models, or generative-AI systems without our written permission.
- You may not republish our editorial content (descriptions, summaries, voice) on another site or app, even with attribution. The recipe ingredients and steps themselves are facts and freely reusable; the way we wrote them up is ours.
- You may not bypass technical protections, rate limits, or any measures we use to protect the service.
You agree not to use the site in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure, or interfere with any other user's use.
Recipes are advice, not guarantees
Cooking depends on your equipment, ingredients, altitude, and skill level. We test our recipes and rewrite them in our voice, but we cannot guarantee the outcome in your kitchen. Use your judgment, taste as you go, and adjust seasoning to your preference.
We are not responsible for spoiled ingredients, undercooked or overcooked food, or any kitchen mishaps. If a recipe seems off (a wrong temperature, a missing ingredient, a confusing step), please email hello@hangryhq.com and we will fix it.
Allergens and food safety
HangryHQ is not a substitute for medical advice or the guidance of a qualified nutritionist or allergist. Always read the full ingredient list before cooking, especially if you or anyone you are cooking for has a food allergy, intolerance, or other dietary medical concern.
Common allergens (dairy, eggs, gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, shellfish, fish, sesame) appear in many of our recipes. Our diet tags (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.) are best-effort classifications based on the listed ingredients. Always double-check the ingredient list yourself.
Follow safe food-handling practices when cooking, especially with raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs. Internal-temperature recommendations from the USDA or your country's equivalent should always take precedence over ours.
The fridge tool
The fridge tool matches recipes against ingredients you list. The results are suggestions based on a scoring algorithm, not personalized professional advice. The list of ingredients you type is stored in your own browser's localStorage, on your device, for up to 7 days. We do not transmit it to our servers and we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data.
Our content (and yours)
Our content: all original prose, descriptions, voice, headers, and editorial framing on HangryHQ are copyright Pizza Robot Studios LLC. Recipe ingredient lists and procedural steps are facts and are not protectable in the United States. We do not claim any rights over the underlying recipe; we claim rights over the way we describe it.
Your content: if you contact us with a recipe suggestion or a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, and publish what you sent (with attribution where appropriate). You retain ownership of anything you submit.
Trademarks
All restaurant brand names, dish names, and logos referenced anywhere on this site belong to their respective owners. HangryHQ uses brand and dish names nominatively, in the editorial sense (e.g. "Inspired by McDonald's Big Mac"), which is permitted under fair use. We do not reproduce trademarked logos. HangryHQ participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click certain ingredient shopping links and make a purchase, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this in context where the links appear, per FTC guidance. Our editorial choices are not influenced by potential commissions; we link to ingredients you would need either way.
Third-party links
HangryHQ links out to recipe sources, restaurant websites, and shopping destinations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or the accuracy of their information.
Limitation of liability
HangryHQ is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pizza Robot Studios LLC and its officers, employees, and contributors disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site, including but not limited to losses related to spoiled food, kitchen accidents, allergic reactions (please read the allergen warning above), data loss, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim related to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD $100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pizza Robot Studios LLC from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will note it on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
